Filipe Moura, MD, PhD, earned his medical degree from the University of Brasilia, Brazil. He then received his PhD degree from the State University of Campinas, where he worked on translational research that focused on insulin sensitivity in patients with acute myocardial infarction. He then completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center and cardiology fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He is currently a fellow at the TIMI Study Group and works with clinical trials related to cardiometabolic disease. His research is focused on using clinical and multi-omics data to characterize sub-phenotypes of type 2 diabetes and obesity with regards to their cardiovascular risk.
