

Ben joined The Lancet as an Executive Editor in 2024, where he handles primary research manuscripts, is part of the fast-track team, and is an Oncology Ambassador. Prior to that, he was an editor at Springer Nature for over four years, first as a Manuscript Editor on the BMC Series journals before moving to Communications Medicine, part of the Nature Portfolio, as one of its launch editors. Ben became a Senior Editor at Communications Medicine and was the journal’s Locum Chief Editor for a short period during 2024. Ben has a PhD in Cancer Sciences from the University of Manchester, UK. His interests are in non-communicable diseases, particularly cancer but also liver and metabolic disease.
