

Jeffrey V Lazarus is a full professor at the CUNY Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy and the head of the Public Health Liver Group at ISGlobal. His decade-long career at WHO’s European Office was followed by serving as the Vice-Chair of the EASL International Liver Foundation, Board Chair of AFEW International and as the first director of Health Systems Global. He currently serves as the director of the Global Think-tank on Steatotic Liver Disease, Chair of the Healthy Livers Healthy Lives coalition, and head of MASH Cities. He is the author of more than 450 publications, and is principal investigator of multiple global studies and clinical trials, and a work package leader of Europe’s largest liver research consortium: LiverAIM. In 2023 he was the recipient of the American Liver Foundation Distinguished Scientific Achievement award and in 2025 the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (AACE) Public Service Award.
