
Nisha Bansal (Seattle, USA)
Nisha Bansal MD MAS is a Professor and the holder of the Arthur Stach Family Endowed Professorship in the Division of Nephrology at the University of Washington (UW). She is the Assistant Vice Chair for Research for the Department of Medicine. She is also an investigator in the Kidney Research Institute, the Director of Nephrology Clinical and Research Education and the Director of the Kidney-Heart Service at UW. Dr. Bansal completed college at Brown University, her medical degree at the University of Connecticut, internship and residency in internal medicine at Tufts Medical Center, followed by completion of nephrology fellowship at UCSF.
Dr. Bansal’s continuously NIH funded research program consists of clinical, patient-oriented studies to understand the pathophysiology, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease and hypertension in patients with kidney disease. She has published >200 papers in high impact general medicine, cardiology and nephrology journals. Her work has helped inform national and international guidelines. Dr. Bansal has been active in numerous national committees through the American Heart Association and the American Society of Nephrology and is a standing member of NIH study section. Her work has led national recognition including induction into the American Society of Clinical Investigation and receipt of the American Society of Nephrology Distinguished Researcher Award.
